About VIDRC
 
Vaccine and Infectious Disease Research Center (VIDRC) was set up by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India in early 2009 as a niche center of the newly established Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI). The aim of VIDRC is to study infectious diseases and pathogens with a view to develop effective vaccines and therapeutics.

The interim laboratories of VIDRC are functioning from a 25000 sq.ft. facility located at 496, Udyog Vihar Phase III, Gurgaon in the South of Delhi area. The permanent laboratories of the center will come up at the Biotech Science Cluster in Faridabad in the next 3 years.

The other members of the cluster include the Regional Center for Biotechnology (RCB) and the National Institute of Immunology (NII) with which VIDRC will have seamless scientific collaboration to achieve the interdisciplinary expertise.
